BABE Placement Overview

At Level 1 of the BA (Hons) Ballet Education programme you will take part in visits to observe dance teaching in a variety of different contexts, including Community Dance, the Public and Private sectors, and the Leisure Industry. You will gain knowledge and understanding of the role of the dance teacher operating in different dance teaching contexts.

At Level 2 you will undertake three Professional Placements in which you will make the journey from observing and assisting teaching, to teaching a group of students yourself.  At all stages, you will be supported by qualified, experienced staff from the placement school or organisation and the RAD. 

At Level 3 teaching skills are developed through a final professional placement. This builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills gained from Levels 1 and 2 so that at Level 3 you can demonstrate competency in planning and teaching entire dance classes.
