Step into Dance Vacancies
Step into Dance is a fully inclusive partnership programme run by the Royal Academy of Dance and funded by the Jack Petchey Foundation. It aims to widen participation in dance for ALL secondary schools in London, regardless of experience or ability. The programmes now runs in a 100 schools over 13 London Boroughs. The schools receive a two hour dance class delivered weekly over the academic year focussing on developing technical, creative and performance skills. As a Freelance Dance Teacher, you will be asked to develop the programme in each school or schools allocated to you. The post will be part time, and how many schools you work in will depend upon your schedule and the style/s of dance you can teach. Please indicate your weekly availability and dance style/s clearly in your Personal Statement (see “Making an Application” below)
We are now recruiting additional freelance dance teachers from the public and private dance sectors to develop the programme in each selected school. Through a growing collaboration with London Youth Dance, the aim is to create a dynamic network of freelance dance teachers with access to professional development opportunities to support high quality, sustainable dance opportunities for young people in London.
