1. Do I have to be mentoring a student on an RAD programme in order to do this module?
Yes. This will help you relate the issues discussed in the module to your current or past mentoring experiences. However you do not have to be mentoring in conjunction with the programme.
2. Do I need experience of university level study in order to complete this module?
No. The module is designed to be studied by those who the relevant professional experience to become a mentor. This module is aimed at new mentors as well as allowing experienced mentors to gain theoretical underpinning to their practice.
3. How will I be supported in my studies?
Whilst you are completing your module you will be assigned to a tutor who will support you in your studies by e-mail and phone
4. Are there any additional costs once I am undertaking the module?
With any study you undertake you need to budget for cost of study materials such as key texts of which you may wish to keep your own copy. However, the RAD provides the majority of required readings.
5. Will I have to write an essay for the assessment?
For your final assessment you will have to compile a 2500 word portfolio. This word count may be daunting. However the work that you complete during your progress through the module builds towards this final assessment and throughout, you are supported by your tutor.
6. Can I study these modules anywhere in the world?
Yes, when CPD is offered in your country. In 2009, this module is only available to Mentors delivering as part of the UK and Australian CBTS cohorts.
