Bring more depth to your teaching by gaining a greater understanding of the dances which have inspired your students to come to dance class. Engage them, by engaging yourself in the movement concepts which form the building blocks of dance and generate the magic so particular to our art form.
Completing this module will enable you to
* appreciate the complexities of dance as an art form, read basic Benesh Movement Notation and Labanotation and improve your observation and analytical skills.
* experiment with study at the equivalent of the first year of university without the risk, commitment or expense associated with enrolling on a longer degree programme
* study in private from your own home, with support from an RAD tutor
Frameworks and Perspectives is a nine-part module, designed to be studied over several months. As a learner, you will work through a module study guide and other resources, and access help and support from a RAD tutor by telephone and email.
At regular intervals, you will also be able to submit tasks to your tutor, again in private, so that you may both measure your progress in your studies. An example of a task includes watching an excerpt of a dance and analysing the movement in detail from a particular perspective.
Each task you complete as you progress through the module builds towards a final assessment.
